Description: Thyme makes an attractive edging or border. It grows to only six to twelve inches in height. Leaves are dark gray-green in color, and pale pink flowers bloom at the tips of the stems in summer.
How to use: The aromatic leaves season meats, poultry, stews, sauces, soups and dressings. Leaves can be harvested for fresh use throughout the summer, but the flavor is best just before flowering. To dry, cut the stems just as the flowers start to open and hang upside down in small bunches.

English Thyme is a perennial herb that is typically grown for its edible qualities, although it does have ornamental merits as well. The tiny fragrant round grayish green leaves can be harvested at any time in the season. The leaves have a savory taste and a pleasant fragrance.
